Show I Watched: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Well, halo there!

It’d been a while

When I was a teenager, I never missed Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Sabrina the Animated Series. I wish I could have read the Archie comic that Sabrina is based on.

Did anyone of you ever watch it? Or maybe read the comic?

Then Netflix aired this series! This trailer above is brilliant and very sassy… Very much like Sabrina the character. There’s more trailers for the series as it progresses through the parts.

Anyways, if you don’t know who or what Sabrina is, here you go with the IMDB blurb:

As her 16th birthday nears, Sabrina must choose between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. Based on the Archie comic.

Warner Bros. Television really had fun with the series. It’s sassy and funny and fearlessly throw whoo-whoo words and deeds around. The wordfun is hilarious when the witch world use traditionally ‘holy’ words as cuss words.

Yes, I was raised religiously and there was a dictionary of off-limit words and phrases that only the least ‘holy’ people used. Yet everybody used it…

I digress!

Kiernan Shipka

The fabulous Kiernan Shipka plays the sassy Sabrina Spellman (Morningstar) and does this character justice.

The series has a really great cast and colourful characters. What just made my day was when actors from the 90’s sitcom version made an appearance during the 4th part. But now I will not say more.

Hilda Spellman

Ambrose Spellman

My absolute favourite characters are the enduring but underrated Hilda Sellman played by Lucy Davis and Ambrose Spellman played by Chance Perdomo.

The series is aired in 4 parts which consists of 36 episodes. Probably more than what’s reasonable to binge-watch but worth it in my eyes.

Due to the dark and gory nature of this series, it’s not exactly family viewing. With a rating of 18 and horror and violence, please don’t let your young ones watch it.

I would also add, if supernatural and religious liberty offends you, don’t watch this.

I hope it’s available in your area. When you’ve watched it, let me know!
