To keep the people she loves safe, Sara left everything she knew behind. She soon learns this new world is nothing like her old one, and she struggles to make a place for herself among the Mohiri. But it soon becomes apparent to Sara and to everyone one around her that she is not your typical warrior.
As the weeks pass, Sara builds new relationships, copes with her new trainers, and tries to manage her ever-changing powers, while keeping her unique heritage a secret. Looming in the background is the constant shadow of the Master who will do anything to find her.
Sara finds herself on a journey of self-discovery that uncovers her true strengths and awakens a part of her she never knew existed. She experiences the delight of new friendships, the sweetness and pain of first love, and a loss so deep it could be the thing that finally breaks her. At the end of it all, she discovers that the one place she was supposed to be safe might not be the refuge she thought it was.
What says I
I never used to be a YA fan until I read this book’s predecessor Relentless. It became the norm to which I test all other books in this genre. And even other genres.
The author picked up the story where she ended and stormed ahead in similar fashion as before with action and intrigue. Her characters as enthralling and unique as before. Although the story was obviously not the same as Relentless, I did miss the innocence of the previous book. That said, the story grows with the characters. Sara is a pig headed and strong. Nikolas is as handsome and unmoving, constantly hovering and my favorite werewolves as adorable as ever. We are however introduced to a character that was mentioned in the first book. Desmund became my favorite warrior in the whole series! He’s a puzzle, a tear jerker, a pillar and absolutely a treat. If the writer ever writes his story, I will be a fan. And now I need to stop otherwise I will be sure to give too many spoilers for my liking. And progably yours.
What says others
When I first read this book, there was basically no other reviews. This has changed in the meantime. Obsession with Books gave it a 5 star, Between the Lines are a fan and Midnight Bloom Reads totally agree with her 5 star review. If you are still not convinced, Boundless Bookreviews, Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble and iTunes might convince you further.
Where to connect with the author
As I mentioned in my review of Relentless, Karen Lynch, the author, is one of the most approachable author I’ve met in a long time. You can reach her through her website, her author page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Goodreads. The Relentless Saga has its own dedicated fan base through the We are Mohiri group. As a side note for other authors, you can learn from this amazing author how to build an author platform. She’s amazing.
