Bookish Links

Bookish links I enjoyed this past week #5

I am a serial reader and love non-fiction articles. For me to find it again and for you to enjoy, I’ll share it here weekly.

1) A beautiful interview with Fiona McFarlane, author of The Night Guest. I’ve been writing since I can remember but mine usually ended up being short stories. Fiona has been a novel writer since 11. That wants to be done.

2) Very interesting article about a writer whose book shares one of Stephen King’s titles! I always wonder how something like this happen since copyright is such a sensitive issue for anybody putting something out there. At least she is getting better reviews now that her readers know she is not THE King!

3) How to make $50 000 per year without hitting the Amazon Top 100 list! Very simple article and I think in a way quite doable. I’ve also seen many authors offer their first novel in a series for free and this seems to be a strategic move. Very interesting. Very cool website too for self-publishers.

4) I love writing letters. I’ve tried to make contact with so many pen pals over the years but have never succeeded in having a successful writing-back pen pal! Interesting enough this seems to make a comeback. Maybe I should look for an older person and not somebody my age. Between careers and family, writing time is a luxury. Anybody want to be my pen pal? Please leave a message in the comments and I will gladly connect if you are willing!

5) I know for a fact I am not nearly as creative as I should be. My level of frustration the biggest clue. But juggling is not the best of ways to be creative. Zoey Martin writes in her article on The Shake about some things she will be doing to get off the hamster wheel.
